bloggs-exercise-7-hofstedes-cultural.

Gentlemen today i had presentation and It was a good experience and useful. My part was to explain what is the short term and long term in Hofstade's Cultural  dimension. What I've learned the meaning of long term is need more effort and work and patience to get results Future also must have so far vision and planning and that not happening easily and fastest. That mean the long term need long time to get results also the effected about our cultural will be so hard to changed easily. For example, and I think the UAE is an example of along term that's because the government always thinking and putting their plants for the future for the development and progress of civilization. H.H shike zayed he had vision that the UAE it will become the most successful country. Turned from a small desert oasis city of greenish and sophisticated in many areas of scientific and educational. Finely I was more interested about this idea because I learn new things useful.

Exercise #5 - Racism, Classism, Slavery Today, Globalization and Human Right

57

Slaves Work For Me

We'd love to tell you which brands to buy from to reduce your Slavery Footprint. The truth is, we can’t yet. This issue is not a priority for business. That’s why Made In A Free World is building a revolutionary tool for companies to directly address slavery in their supply chains, along with a movement to partner with companies who are actively building a Free World. We need your help to build this movement.

Culture and Personality in Anthropology

Read the section about Culture and Personality in Anthropology. Answer these questions about that section:-

1.       Define “Anthropology” in your own words ..  The study of human history and culture

2.       What do you understand by “socialization of children” Give an example

where your culture tells you how you raise your children.

3.       Read this sentence again and give examples of childrearing in different societies and cultures: “socialization creates personality patterns. It helps shape people’s emotions, thoughts, behaviors, cultural values and norms to fit into and function as productive members in the surrounding human society. The study of culture and personality demonstrates that different socialization practices such as childrearing in different societies (cultures) result in different personality types.”

Consider “bed time” in different cultures; Some Emirati families do not have a set bed time for the children. In most Western cultures, children often do have a specific bed time

4.       Read this sentence again and say to what extent you agree: “all humans are the same when born, but childrearing in different societies causes deviations in behavior and personalities from each other.”  I totally agree with this statement

5.       Reflect on the reading above. Can you see a link between your culture and your personality? Think about that in relation to your own culture first, and then think about personality and culture in a different society. Reflect. Give examples.
